Red Sox vs. Angels Prediction

Will the Angels pull off another upset of the Red Sox today when the two teams meet at 3:37PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Red Sox are -133 money line favorites to beat the Angels, who have odds of +110 to pull off the upset. With Rick Porcello set to face Parker Bridwell in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: Porcello yielded three runs — one earned — over six innings Sunday in a loss to the Yankees. Porcello struck out six batters and did not issue a walk, but the Yankees racked up nine hits against him — including a Didi Gregorius home run in the top of the fifth inning. Last year’s American League Cy Young Award winner is now 4-12 on the season with a rough 4.60 ERA. He’ll get the Blue Jays at home next.

Bridwell allowed two runs on six hits over 6 1/3 innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday’s win over the Rays. Bridwell was coasting with a 2-0 lead up until the seventh inning, when he yielded a game-tying two-run homer to Logan Morrison. He finished up his afternoon’s work having struck out eight and walked one. Overall, Bridwell has pitched respectably enough in six starts this season and is now the owner of a 3.18 ERA and 1.36 WHIP. He will try for more of the same in a home start against the Red Sox next time he takes to the mound.

Bet Today’s Red Sox vs. Angels Game

OUR PREDICTION: The Red Sox are now 13-27 in their last 40 games versus the Angels, are 3-7 in their last 10 games in Los Angeles, and have dropped seven of Porcello’s last 10 starts. They’re also just 1-4 in his last five road starts, while the Angels have won five of Bridwell’s last six outings overall.
