According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Angels are -125 money line favorites versus the A’s, who have odds of +115 to pull off the upset in Los Angeles. With Jharel Cotton set to face Troy Scribner in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.

From Rotoworld: Cotton surrendered five runs on five hits over 3 2/3 innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday’s 12-inning win over the Twins. Cotton was just activated from the disabled list on Sunday after missing two weeks due to a blister concern. Brian Dozier and Eduardo Escobar both burned him for homers in the first inning, with Dozier’s a solo dinger and Escobar’s a two-run shot. The other two runs on Cotton’s line came on solitary runs in the third and fourth innings. He will bring a 5.49 ERA and 1.47 WHIP (15 starts) into a road date with the Angels next time he takes to the mound.
Scribner will start in place of Jesse Chavez in Friday’s game against the A’s. Chavez has been a disaster in the rotation and the Angels are moving him to the bullpen. In his place (at least for the time being) steps Scribner. The 26-year-old right-hander had been pitching to a 4.16 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 98/36 K/BB ratio in 97 1/3 innings at Triple-A prior to having his contract purchased at the end of July. He does not hold much in the way of fantasy intrigue.
