From Rotoworld: Sanchez was outstanding in Friday’s victory over the Tigers, allowing just one unearned run on seven hits over six innings. Sanchez fanned four and walked two in the ballgame. The only damage against him came on a Josh Donaldson error in the fifth inning. The 25-year-old hurler now sits at 1-2 on the season with a 3.94 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 22/15 K/BB ratio across 32 innings in his nine starts. He’ll do battle against the Red Sox in Boston on Wednesday.
Pomeranz yielded four runs in six innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Friday. Pomeranz held the Yankees to one run through the first four innings before giving up in the fifth, highlighted by a long two-run homer off the bat of Gary Sanchez. The southpaw was on the hook for the loss before Aroldis Chapman blew the save in the ninth. This was just the first time since June 11 where Pomeranz gave up more than two runs. He’ll bring a 3.75 ERA into a start against the Blue Jays next week.
