Marlins vs. Braves Prediction
Will the Braves complete a sweep of the Marlins when the two teams square off in Atlanta today at 1:35PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Braves are -120 money line favorites versus the Marlins, who have odds of +100 to pull off the upset in Atlanta. With Jose Urena set to face Lucas Sims in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9.5 runs.

From Rotoworld:Urena tossed eight innings of one-run ball Monday in a tough-luck loss against the Nationals. Urena was terrific, yielding just three hits and one walk against a dangerous Nats offense, but he was out-dueled by veteran left-hander Gio Gonzalez, who carried a no-hitter into the bottom of the ninth inning. Urena stands 9-5 with a 3.82 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 76/40 K/BB ratio over 108 1/3 innings this season. He’ll face the Braves on the road next.
Sims turned in a quality start in his major league debut, allowing three runs over six innings against the Dodgers. Sims ended up with the loss, but he walked none and got through six in a relatively economical 92 pitches. He’s probably not going to be a shallow mixed league SP right away, but he could help those in deeper formats.
Bet Tonight’s A’s vs. Angels Game
OUR PREDICTION: Even though Sims is coming off a gem and looks like a true building block for the Braves, I can’t pass up on the value that Urena brings the Marlins. Wins are a horrible stat for evaluating pitchers but they’re excellent for betting purposes and the Marlins have won nine games that Urena has started. He’s coming off a gem and I think he’ll silence a pesky Atlanta offense this afternoon.
