PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION

As of this writing, 66% of betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Nationals to beat the Phillies on the money line. Meanwhile, 51% of the betting tickets are on the over.

OUR PREDICTION

The Nationals received outstanding starting pitching in Cincinnati over the weekend but their bullpen started to falter on Sunday, nearly blowing a 6-3 lead in the ninth inning before holding on to a 6-5 victory. This is a good spot to back the underdog Braves, who racked up 27 runs and 37 hits in their series versus the Phillies. Furthermore, 13 of those hits went from extra bases. Newcomb showed signs this spring that he had better command of his fastball and if he can carry that over into the regular season, bettors should be able to capitalize on the money line odds.
