From Rotoworld: Wacha fired six scoreless innings in a 1-0 victory over the Diamondbacks on Friday. Wacha held the D-Backs to just three hits while walking one batter and striking out five. He found himself in trouble in the sixth inning, but he managed to strike out David Peralta swinging with two on to end his night. He’s won five out of his last six starts and sits at 8-4 with a 3.71 ERA on the year. He’ll try to keep it going in an NL Central showdown against the Brewers next week.
Garza (leg) is expected to return from the disabled list Thursday against the Cardinals. The Brewers decided a rehab assignment wasn’t necessary after Garza showed well in Monday’s bullpen session. Garza has done a respectable job when healthy, producing a 3.83 ERA over 15 starts. He won his last outing against St. Louis, holding the Red Birds to four runs in five innings back on June 14.
