Padres vs. Giants Prediction
Will Madison Bumgarner lead the Giants to victory tonight when they host the Padres at 10:15PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Giants are -202 money line favorites to beat the Padres, who have odds of +185 to pull off the upset in San Francisco. With Jhoulys Chacin set to face Bumgarner in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 7 runs.

From Rotoworld: Chacin allowed three earned runs while scattering six hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Giants on Saturday. Chacin walked four and struck out four in the 102-pitch quality start. He hasn’t lost in three starts in the month of July, posting a 2-0 record and 2.08 ERA while striking out 16 batters over 17 1/3 innings. If he can cut down on his walks he could be an effective option in mixed formats, but for now he is best used in NL-only play.
Bumgarner (shoulder) allowed just three earned runs, four hits and two walks over seven innings in a no-decision Saturday in San Diego. Bumgarner threw 66 of his 102 pitches for strikes while recording five punchouts in his much-anticipated return. He posted an awful 7.02 ERA in four minor-league rehab starts, but he obviously turned up the intensity and was locked in at Petco Park in his return.
Bet Tonight’s Giants vs. Padres Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Padres are 2-5 in their last seven games overall, are 16-37 in their last 53 road games, and have dropped 17 of 22 inside the division. The Giants, meanwhile, have won five of their last seven home games and are coming off a series victory against the Indians. Perhaps San Francisco is finally ready to turn it on, even if the club’s season will still result in failure.
THURSDAY MLB PREDICTION: SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS -1.5 (-110)
