Cardinals vs. Rockies Prediction
Will the Cardinals top the Rockies behind ace Carlos Martinez tonight at 8:40PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cardinals are -115 money line favorites versus the Rockies, who have odds of +105 to pull off the upset. With Martinez set to face Antonio Senzatela in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 10.5 runs.
From Rotoworld: Martinez allowed just two hits and a walk over nine scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Giants on Saturday. Martinez matched scoreless frames with Jeff Samardzija in a pitcher’s duel which didn’t see the first runs until the 13th inning. The St. Louis right-hander has recorded five consecutive quality starts and he hasn’t lost since April 20. Martinez has recorded 62 strikeouts over 57 2/3 innings this season and he has yielded just 19 hits over his past 26 frames.

Senzatela allowed four runs over five innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Reds. Senzatela gave up a solo homer among his five hits allowed, and he also walked a season-high four in the contest. He’s gone steadily downhill as the season has gone on, as his earned run average has risen with each of his last five starts. As it is, the 22-year-old still owns an attractive 3.67 ERA and decent 1.22 WHIP, but the writing is on the wall here
