Latest from Rotoworld:
Finnegan (trapezius) could rejoin the Reds’ rotation on Monday in St. Louis. Finnegan has posted a 3.00 ERA and 10/3 K/BB ratio over 12 innings across three rehab starts. He’s be relatively limited from a pitch count perspective Monday but is probably built up enough at this point to give it a go. Finnegan has been sidelined since mid-April due to a strained left trapezius muscle.
Wacha gave up five runs — two earned — in four innings but was able to escape with a no-decision against the Phillies on Wednesday. He allowed nine hits and a walk in the brief outing and was fortunate that three of the runs he allowed were unearned. His team was down 5-0 when he was done pitching but they were able to come back late to win the game and spare Wacha a loss. He remains 3-3 with a 4.76 ERA and poor 1.51 WHIP after 13 starts. He will take the mound on Monday for a make-up game versus the Reds.
Bet Today’s Reds vs. Cardinals Game
OUR PREDICTION: Wacha scares me and the Reds have had success against the Cardinals recently (5-0 in last five games versus St. Louis). That said, the Cardinals are 6-0 in Wacha’s last six home starts versus the Reds and have won 10 of his last 11 outings versus Cincinnati overall. The Cardinals are also 78-37 against the Reds, who are 3-13 in their last 16 games overall despite winning yesterday in Washington.
