From Rotoworld: Wainwright held the Phillies to two runs over five innings Sunday for his seventh win. Wainwright flirted with danger throughout the afternoon outing, yielding six hits and walking two, but he kept the Cardinals within striking distance and they would go on to win the game 6-5 to complete a three-game series sweep of the Phils. It was a much better showing than Waino’s last start Tuesday against the Reds, when he got lit up for nine runs over just 3 2/3 innings. The veteran right-hander is probably going to remain a risky fantasy bet going forward. He’ll face the Orioles on the road next.
Miley was torched in Monday’s loss to the White Sox, surrendering six runs on six hits in just 2 1/3 innings. Miley also issued two walks in the ballgame and didn’t strike out a batter. Kevan Smith tagged him for a two-run homer in the second inning then the White Sox erupted for four more before chasing Miley in the third. The veteran southpaw now sits at 2-4 on the season with a 3.97 ERA and highly troubling 1.60 WHIP. He’ll look to turn things around on Saturday against the Cardinals.
