Cardinals vs. Cubs Prediction
Will the Cubs complete their sweep of the Cardinals tonight on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball at 7:35PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cubs are -170 money line favorites to beat the Cardinals, who have odds of +160 to pull off the upset in Chicago. With Michael Wacha set to face Kyle Hendricks in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: Wacha was charged with four runs – three earned – over just three innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Dodgers. Wacha managed to hold the Dodgers off the scoreboard for the first two innings but had to pitch out of jams each frame. He then gave up the four spot in the third on three hits, two walks and an error. That’s two rough outings in a row for Wacha, although they both came against a Dodgers team that feasts on right-handed pitching. He’ll face the Cubs at Wrigley on Sunday in another tough matchup.
Hendricks surrendered five earned runs over five innings in a loss to the Padres on Monday. Hendricks had been enjoying an excellent May, but he struggled to navigate a weak San Diego lineup on Monday afternoon at Petco Park. Hendricks gave up four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning (on a Hunter Renfroe grand slam) and one more run in the bottom of the fifth as his season ERA jumped from 3.25 to 3.75. Last year’s ERA king will try to get back on track in his next start at home against the rival Cardinals.
Bet Tonight’s Cardinals vs. Cubs Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Cardinals are just 1-5 in Wacha’s last six starts and have dropped four of his last five outings versus the Cubs. Furthermore, the Cardinals are 1-4 in their last five games in Chicago and are just 2-5 in their last seven games versus the Cubs overall. Chicago, meanwhile, is 13-6 in Hendricks’ last 19 home starts and is 6-1 in his last seven outings versus National League Central rivals.
