From Rotoworld: Arrieta allowed four runs — three earned — on six hits over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Pirates on Saturday. Despite only striking out three, Arrieta kept it together pretty well until the sixth inning, when Josh Bell led off with a ground-rule double. Two batters later, Gregory Polanco hit a two-run homer, and a single and an RBI double increased the Bucs’ lead. Perhaps most disappointing is the fact that the 31-year-old shoved over seven innings his last time out, suggesting maybe he was on his way to finding a previous, dominant form, only to come back with this showing. He’ll carry an 8-7 record, 4.35 ERA and 1.30 WHIP into next week’s All-Star break.
Miley let in just one run in 5 2/3 innings to lead his club to a 5-1 win over the Twins on Saturday. He gave up eight hits and three walks but did a good job of spreading them out to prevent any rallies. He collected four strikeouts in the ballgame and improved his record to 4-7. The only run he allowed came on a Miguel Sano solo shot in the third inning. Miley has a 4.97 ERA and unbelievably poor 1.75 WHIP in 88 2/3 innings through 18 starts. Kevin Gausman is the only qualified starter with a higher WHIP in the majors this year.

OUR PREDICTION: The Cubs are now 4-0 in their last four games versus the Orioles after holding on for a 9-8 victory last night in Baltimore. The Orioles, meanwhile, are 1-5 in their last six home games, are 2-6 in their last eight games overall, and are 0-4 in their last four interleague games. The Cubs are going to turn it on at some point in the second half and perhaps they’ll use last night as a building block.
