From Rotoworld: Walker was tagged for five earned runs, five hits and three walks while posting four strikeouts across five innings in a loss against Cincinnati on Saturday. Walker wrapped up the first half with a 6-4 record, 3.65 ERA and 1.35 WHIP, but this outing will leave a sour taste in his mouth until the second half kicks off in Atlanta on July 14. He is likely to face the Braves at some point next weekend, and he is 4-2 with an impressive 2.65 ERA through seven outings on the road this season.
Dickey fired seven innings of one-run ball in a no-decision against the Nationals on Friday. It’s not often that a pitcher outpitches Max Scherzer these days, but that’s exactly what happened here. Dickey held the Nationals hitless until Stephen Drew led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a double. Matt Wieters followed with a single to drive in the only run. The veteran knuckleballer gave up three hits in all while walking one and striking out seven. He left in position for the win, but Jim Johnson blew the save in the bottom of the ninth. Dickey has now allowed one run or fewer in four out of his last five starts.

OUR PREDICTION: The over is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams. It is also 20-6-1 in the Diamondbacks’ last 27 games following an off day and is 4-0 in Walker’s last four outings when he starts the first game of a series. On the other side, the over has cashed in five of the Braves’ last six games, is 5-0 in their last five games versus a right-handed starter, and is 33-16-2 in their last 51 games versus an opponent with a winning record.
