From Rotoworld: Walker gave up two runs over six innings Friday in a no-decision against the Braves. Walker held the Braves to one run over his first five innings of work before Freddie Freeman slugged a solo homer in the sixth. He struck out four and walked none in the no-decision and has allowed three earned runs or fewer in five out of six starts since coming off the disabled list. He’ll bring a 3.61 ERA into a start against the Reds next week.
Castillo allowed three runs over six innings in a loss to the Nationals on Saturday. Castillo and Nationals starter Max Scherzer combined to allow three runs over the game’s first six innings; the teams’ bullpens gave up 14 runs before it was all said and done. Even so, it was Castillo who took the loss despite allowing just three hits on the night. Four walks didn’t help his cause, but the 24-year-old did strike out six. Castillo has been very good through five major league starts, posting a 3.41 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 29 innings of work. The Reds haven’t rewarded his efforts with much support, but such is life for a below-.500 team. Castillo will next take the hill Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
