From Rotoworld: Corbin allowed two earned runs over six innings Sunday in a loss to the Reds. Corbin struck out nine and issued only two walks, but he surrendered seven hits and the Arizona offense backed him with only one run of support in the 2-1 defeat at Chase Field. The left-hander will carry a 6-9 record and 4.71 ERA into the All-Star break. He has a 95/30 K/BB ratio in 101 1/3 innings.
Foltynewicz limited the Nationals to two runs over six innings in a 5-2 Braves win Thursday. After carrying a no-hitter into the ninth in his last outing, Foltynewicz was decidedly less sharp in this one, allowing eight hits and walking one over his six frames. There’s something to be said for run suppression, though, and Folty did it well enough to earn a win in his fourth straight decision dating back to the start of June. The 25-year-old hits the All-Star break with a 7-5 record, 3.77 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 81/31 K/BB ratio over 93 innings to date. If the second half looks anything like the first, it’ll easily be a career year for the right-hander.
