MLB Predictions: Will Diamondbacks vs. Giants fall under total? 8/6/17

Diamondbacks vs. Giants Prediction

Will today’s Diamondbacks and Giants game fall under the betting total when the NL West rivals wrap up their series at 4:05PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Giants are -125 money line favorites to beat the Diamondbacks, who have odds of +105 to pull off the upset. With Patrick Corbin set to face Jeff Samardzija in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8 runs.

From Rotoworld: Corbin didn’t have it Tuesday against the Cubs, getting pasted for eight runs — seven earned — over just three innings. Corbin entered the night having not given up more than three earned runs in any of his last nine outings, but he ran into a buzzsaw in this one. The Cubs piled up a whopping 10 hits — including three home runs — off of the left-hander. We’re tempted to throw this one out since Corbin had been so good and the Cubs are red-hot. He should fare better Sunday in San Francisco.

Samardzija allowed four runs – three earned – and six hits with two walks and five strikeouts over eight innings in a win Tuesday in Oakland. Samardzija has won back-to-back starts and four of his past six decisions. The eight innings tied a season high for the right-hander who likely was a bit more relaxed after having his name tossed around in the weeks leading up to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. He’ll look to win a season-high third straight start when he toes the slab on Sunday at home against Arizona.

Bet Today’s Diamondbacks vs. Giants Game

OUR PREDICTION: In Arizona’s last six games when playing on the road against San Francisco, the under hit in five of those contests. The total has also gone under in five of the Giants’ last six games when playing at home against Arizona and is 4-1 in their last five games versus the Diamondbacks overall. The Giants’ offense has been inconsistent all season and the Diamondbacks struggle to score runs on the road, at least compared to what they normally do at Chase Field.
