From Rotoworld: Ray gave up four runs over six innings and struck out nine Friday in a loss to the Rockies. Even Ray’s bad outings this year haven’t been particularly bad; he still hasn’t given up more than five runs in any of his 16 stats. It is somewhat concerning that he’s walked 17 batters in his last four starts (he totaled 31 in his first 12), but it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll suddenly start getting hit hard with regularity.
Hill allowed just four hits and a walk while striking out a season-high 11 batters over seven scoreless innings in a win Saturday at San Diego. It was Hill’s first victory on the road since May 29, a span of four outings away from home. The strikeouts matched a career best, set two times before when he was a member of the Chicago Cubs. He struck out 11 on June 7, 2007, as well as Sept. 6, 2006. The veteran southpaw also had his first career multi-hit game, as well as his first base hit since June 19, 2009, as a member of the Baltimore Orioles.
