Dodgers vs. Padres Prediction

Will the Dodgers stay red-hot with a win versus NL West rivals the Padres at 10:10PM ET tonight?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Dodgers are -184 money line favorites versus the Padres, who have odds of +164 to pull off the upset. With Rich Hill set to face Dillon Overton in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: Hill allowed three runs on four hits over seven innings in Monday’s loss to the Angels. Hill took the loss in this one, but he pitched well enough for a win. The veteran southpaw struck out seven and walked two on the evening, with only a two-run single by Yunel Escobar in the third inning and a sacrifice fly by Danny Espinosa in the fourth dinging the scoreboard on his watch. He will bring a 4.60 ERA and 1.45 WHIP into a road start against the Padres.

Latest on Overton: Padres claimed Overton off waivers from the Mariners; optioned him to Triple-A El Paso. Overton has put up an ugly 9.28 ERA over 42 2/3 innings in the majors and holds a 9.33 mark at the Triple-A level this year. However, the 25-year-old put up nice numbers in the minors prior to this season and is worth a shot as a depth addition.

Bet Tonight’s Dodgers vs. Padres Game

OUR PREDICTION: The Dodgers have won five of their last six on the road, are 39-14 in their last 53 games, and are 4-1 in HIll’s last five starts coming off four days of rest. On the other side, the Padres are 2-12 in their last 14 games versus National League West, are 1-6 in their last seven home games versus an opponent with a winning road record, and are 1-4 in their last five games versus a left-handed starter.
