OUR PREDICTION
It’s tempting to jump on the Dodgers because they’re the better team with the better starter today but the line movement for this game has me thrown off. Sharps clearly favor the Giants since their odds have significantly improved off their opening number despite the majority of public bettors being on the Dodgers. Thus, let’s stay away from the side.
The total, however, screams the under despite the Giants’ ability to find their offense the other day against Felix Hernandez and the Mariners. Hill is a strikeout artist and the Giants lack punch. On the other side, Stratton is your prototypical No. 5 starter, capable of keeping his team in the ballgame but not dominant enough to back every fifth day. If both Hill and Stratton limit the damage through the first five or six innings, I like my chances of cashing the under with these two bullpens.
