From Rotoworld: Foltynewicz let in three runs in 5 1/3 innings and came away with a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Saturday. He struck out six batters against three walks and was able to keep the ball in the yard despite allowing eight hits. He gave up a run in the first inning and then settled down to hold the Diamondbacks without another run until yielding two in the sixth. The 25-year-old right-hander has done a good job of solidifying the rotation for a Braves team that has been better than expected. He has a 7-5 record with a 3.84 ERA and 87 strikeouts in 98 1/3 innings.
McCarthy surrendered four runs in 4 2/3 innings against the Marlins on Friday. The Dodgers grabbed the lead in the top of the fifth inning, but McCarthy gave up three runs in the bottom of the frame before being pulled. This was just the second time in his last nine starts that he gave up more than two earned runs. He’ll attempt to rebound against the Braves in his next outing.
