Hill held the Cardinals to one run over five innings of work in Monday’s 5-1 victory. It was certainly a major improvement over his outing against the Cards last week when he walked seven batters. Hill permitted only two hits, walked two and recorded four strikeouts on the day. The left-hander needed 86 pitches to get through his five innings, and with his blister issues it was probably best not to push him to complete a sixth. Hill will face the Brewers at Miller Park this weekend. (Rotoworld)
Garza allowed four earned runs over 5 2/3 innings Monday in a loss to the Mets. He walked two and gave up seven hits. Garza has now struggled in two straight starts and it seems likely that his ERA will continue to rise. It jumped from 3.60 to 3.98 on Monday afternoon at Citi Field.
