From Rotoworld: Cobb carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday. Cobb punched out four and walked one on the night. Josh Harrison broke up the no-hit bid with a single leading off the seventh inning, which was followed by a single from Andrew McCutchen. Those would be the only two hits Cobb would allow over eight shutout innings. Unfortunately, Alex Colome was unable to protect his lead in the ninth. He’ll head into Sunday’s start against the Orioles in Baltimore with a 3.69 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 71/28 K/BB ratio.
Gausman was terrific in Tuesday’s victory over the Blue Jays, scattering four hits and two walks over 5 1/3 scoreless innings. The right-hander punched out four on the night. While he has been nothing but a disaster for most of the season, he seems to own the Blue Jays and continues to pitch well against them each time out. He’ll look to further improve upon a horrifying 6.07 ERA and 1.84 WHIP when he does battle against the Rays on Sunday.
