From Rotoworld: Gonzalez gave up two runs and struck out eight batters in seven innings of work but didn’t get a decision as his team beat the Brewers 8-5 on Wednesday. The game was tied at 2-2 when he left the ballgame. He gave up one walk and five hits. Both runs scored in the first inning, the first on a solo home run by outfielder Domingo Santana. The other run scored when Travis Shaw came home as Jesus Aguilar reached base on a swinging strikeout pitch that eluded the catcher. Gonzalez went on to fire six more shutout frames before being relieved. His record holds at 8-5 with a 2.81 ERA through 21 starts.
Urena picked up his ninth victory of the season on Wednesday despite allowing five runs on four hits over his five frames. Urena also issued four walks while striking out five on the night. Thankfully, the Marlins provided him with a bushel of run support and all he needed to do was avoid a disaster to earn the victory. He’ll bring a 4.04 ERA and 1.28 WHIP into Monday’s matchup against the Nationals.
