From Rotoworld: deGrom (triceps) threw his usual between-starts side session on Saturday. DeGrom left Thursday’s start with a bruised triceps but is already on the mend. He’ll be fine to make his next start Tuesday against the Yankees. The right-hander has compiled a dominant 2.01 ERA over six second-half starts.
Gray allowed three runs — two earned — over six innings in Thursday’s loss to the Blue Jays. This start looked an awful lot like his Yankees debut, sans the early meltdown by his defense. In both, Gray has been solid but unspectacular, he’s been let down by errors and his offense has been nonexistent. The right-hander is now 6-7 with a 3.39 ERA through 18 starts on the year, and with a little more backing from one of the league’s best offenses he should get his first win as a member of the Bombers in short order. That win could come Tuesday against the cross-town rival Mets.
Bet Tonight’s Mets vs. Yankees Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Mets have won nine of deGrom’s last 11 starts, are 4-1 in his last five road outings, and are 22-8 in his last 30 starts when their opponent allows two runs or less in their previous game. On the other side, the Yankees are just 1-5 in their last six games coming off a win.
