The Indians continue to be without Michael Brantley, who is on the injury report due to an ankle injury. He is on the DL after offseason surgery but is expected to return sometime in April. L.A. second baseman Ian Kinsler is on the 10-day DL due to a groin injury but could return next week.
BETTING STRATEGIES
Cleveland won the series opener on Monday, 6-0, but then suffered a 12-3 loss to the Angels on Tuesday. Josh Tomlin was lit up in the loss, allowing eight runs on eight hits over just three innings. The bullpen then gave up another five runs over five innings. Pitcher/DH Shohei Ohtani proved that he can hit, posting his first home run while getting three hits and three RBI for the Angels. Rene Rivera added two hits and four RBI.
Garrett Richards earned the win on the mound as he went 5.2 innings and gave up just two runs on one hit with four walks and nine strikeouts. Jose Ramirez had a hit and drove in two runs to lead the Cleveland hitters.
Cleveland has been alternating wins and losses thus far in 2018. I think the Tribe can bounce back today as well behind Kluber. He’s not one to have multiple bad outings close together. Los Angeles has a dangerous lineup and Richards looked good, but I will still take my chances on a former Cy Young winner to lead his team to a win.
