From Rotoworld: Lamet allowed just one hit and no runs in 5 2/3 innings to beat the Pirates on Saturday. The only hit he surrendered was a fourth-inning single by Josh Bell. He did walk three batters, though that didn’t take the sparkle off his outing. He added five strikeouts and saw his record improve to 6-4 after 12 starts. The rookie has a 5.12 ERA with 80 strikeouts in 63 1/3 innings.

Castillo allowed four runs — three earned — over 6 1/3 innings in Saturday’s loss to the Cardinals. Castillo gave up a two-run home run in the third inning and was responsible for two more runs that crossed the plate in the seventh, one scoring on a passed ball. The 24-year-old wasn’t serving up meatballs — the Cardinals only managed three hits against him — but he was all over the place, walking five and hitting two more. He’s still been largely good through his nine starts, posting a 3.64 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 55/23 K/BB ratio over 54 1/3 innings, and even Saturday he went home with a quality start for his efforts. Castillo will look for better command Thursday against the Padres.
