Angels vs. Mariners Prediction

Will the Mariners beat the Angels on the runline when the two American League West rivals meet at 10:10PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Mariners are -210 money line favorites versus the Angels, who have odds of +180 to pull off the upset. With Tyler Skaggs set to face James Paxton in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 7.5 runs.

From Rotoworld:  Skaggs surrendered three earned runs over four innings Saturday in a loss to the Athletics. Skaggs, making his first start since April 28, surrendered one run in the top of the first inning and two more in the top of the fourth while falling to 1-2 on the season with a 4.32 ERA. He gave up six hits, two walks, and struck out three. The 26-year-old left-hander will try for better results next time out against the Mariners.

Paxton held the Royals to two runs and four hits in six innings to win Friday. Paxton, the AL Pitcher of the Month for July, has won seven straight starts now. He’s struck out at least seven in the last six of those, and he’s sitting at 132 strikeouts in 113 1/3 innings for the season. If he can stay healthy, he’ll remain one of the league’s very best.

Bet Tonight’s Angels vs. Mariners Game

OUR PREDICTION: The Angels have dropped seven of Skagg’s last nine starts versus a team with a winning record, are 1-4 in their last five games versus the Mariners, and are 1-6 in their last seven road games versus a team with a winning record. On the other side, the Mariners are 4-1 in Paxton’s last five home starts, are 5-2 in his last seven home starts versus a team with a losing record, and are a perfect 7-0 in his last seven outings overall.

THURSDAY MLB PREDICTION: SEATTLE MARINERS -1.5
