From Rotoworld: Miranda allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits while striking out 10 over six innings and taking a no-decision in Friday’s loss to the Mets. This was Miranda’s first double-digit strikeout game of the season. He had a few hiccups early — Jay Bruce rocked a two-run homer off the southpaw in the first inning and Michael Conforto socked a solo homer off him as part of a two-run third — but ultimately settled in for a respectable enough six innings of work. Miranda will bring a 4.31 ERA and 1.15 WHIP into a road date with the Rangers in his next scheduled outing.
Cashner spun seven innings of one-run ball in an 8-2 win over the Orioles on Friday. Cashner limited the Orioles to five hits, with the lone run scoring on a solo homer from Jonathan Schoop in the sixth inning. He fanned a pair and walked to en route to his sixth win of the season. Cashner has compiled a 3.48 ERA through 17 starts this season, though he has an underwhelming 51/43 K/BB ratio over 101 innings. Fantasy upside is limited here.
