From Rotoworld: Volquez scattered five hits and two runs over five innings Sunday in the Marlins’ 4-2 win over the Cubs. He walked five and struck out four. Volquez blanked the Cubs over his first three innings but limped to the finish by allowing two runs, four hits and a walk over his final two frames. He’s now won four of his last six starts after beginning the year 0-7. Volquez’s next start will come Saturday against Milwaukee.
Garza took a loss despite turning in a quality start against the Braves on Saturday. He gave up three runs on seven hits in six innings of work. He struck out four batters without issuing a base-on-balls. The big blow was a two-run blast by Brandon Phillips in the third inning. Garza falls to 3-4 with a 4.43 ERA and 1.28 WHIP after 11 starts. He will face the Marlins at home on Friday.
