Reds vs. Marlins Prediction
Will the Marlins complete a four-game sweep of the Reds when the teams wrap up their series at 1:10PM ET on Sunday?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Marlins are -118 money line favorites to knock off the Reds, who have odds of +108 to pull off the upset. With Luis Castillo set to face Dan Straily in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: Castillo surrendered three runs over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Yankees. It wasn’t his sharpest outing, as he gave up seven hits, walked two and recording only two strikeouts. Castillo was fortunate to escape with only one run allowed in the second inning, as he loaded the bases with no one out and got Todd Frazier to hit into a triple play (with the help of a baserunning mistake by Didi Gregorius). The young righty has had an absolutely brutal schedule so far and to come out of it with a 4.05 ERA and over a strikeout per inning is admirable. He gets a bit of a break this weekend matchup-wise in Miami.
Straily was crushed in Tuesday’s loss to the Rangers, surrendering six runs on 10 hits over his four innings. Straily walked one and struck out two in the outing. He had difficulty keeping the ball in the yard on Tuesday, serving up a pair of solo homers to Joey Gallo and another to Mike Napoli. He’ll look to get back on track on Sunday against the Reds.
Bet Today’s Reds vs. Marlins Game
OUR PREDICTION: I know Straily was rocked in his last start but he has been stellar all season for Miami. The Reds are winless in their last eight games in Miami and are 1-5 in their last six games versus the Marlins overall. On the other side, the Marlins have won four straight games, are 5-1 in their last six games against National League Central opponents, and are 10-2 in their last 12 home games when facing an opponent with a road winning percentage of less than .400. Simply put, the Marlins beat up on bad teams. I’m not taking a slumping Reds team today when the price is this good on the home squad.
