From Rotoworld: Perez was knocked around for seven runs over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Twins on Friday. Perez gave up nine hits, including three homers. He put himself in an early hole by allowing a leadoff homer to Brian Dozier and a three-run shot to Robbie Grossman in the first inning. The 26-year-old southpaw has lost four straight outings and has an ugly 5.46 ERA through 21 starts on the year. He’s not a fantasy option.
Montero surrendered five runs on three hits over 4 2/3 innings while taking a no-decision in Friday’s win over the Mariners. Montero was working with a 4-0 lead heading into the bottom of the third inning before the Mariners started to chip away. Mike Zunino would burn him for a solo home run in the frame, with the other four runs on his line scoring in the fourth inning. Two of those came home as inherited runners after Montero exited stage left with two outs. He finished the evening having struck out five and — shield your eyes — walked five. Up next on the docket, a road start against the Rockies. Montero will carry a rough 5.56 ERA and 1.73 WHIP into that affair.
