Lugo allowed four runs — three earned — over 6 2/3 innings in a loss to the Nationals on Saturday. Lugo gave up a pair of homers among his seven hits allowed, and he also walked two on the day. The start was less impressive than his season debut his last time out, in which he held the Braves to a lone run over seven innings. Lugo will have another tough test up next, when he and the Mets take on the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Thursday. (Via Rotoworld)
Blach allowed three runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday’s loss to the Rockies. Nice rebound outing for Blach, who was rocked for seven earned runs by the Royals in his last outing. In Sunday’s affair, he struck out five and walked two on the afternoon. He held the Rockies off the scoreboard until the sixth inning, when Nolan Arrenado burned him for an RBI double. The score would flip from a 2-1 Giants advantage to a 3-2 Rockies lead when Trevor Story and Pat Valaika socked solo homers off the right-hander in the seventh inning. He will try to shake off those critical dingers when he brings a 4.23 ERA and 1.23 WHIP into a home start against the Mets next time out.
