From Rotoworld: Making his major league debut in Thursday’s loss to the Padres, Flexen allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits over three innings.Perhaps battling a few butterflies in his debut in the bigs, Flexen walked four over his three innings of work. Manuel Margot victimized him twice, first swatting a solo homer in the first inning and then coming through again with a two-run double in the second. Prior to his call-up, the 23-year-old Flexen had been pitching to a crisp 1.76 ERA with a 63/10 K/BB ratio in 61 1/3 frames between High- and Double-A. It remains to be seen if he will receive another opportunity next time through the rotation.
Chatwood is set to rejoin the Rockies’ starting rotation on Wednesday against the Mets. German Marquez will be pushed back to work on Thursday. It’s unclear if this will be a one-time thing due to the doubleheader on Sunday, or if Chatwood will remain in the Rockies’ rotation for awhile. He owns a 4.78 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 88/62 K/BB ratio in 107 1/3 innings on the season.
