According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cardinals are -117 money line favorites versus the Mets, who have odds of +107 to pull off the upset. With deGrom set to face Carlos Martinez in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 7.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: deGrom spun seven innings of one-run ball and struck out 12 batters in a 2-1 victory over the Phillies on Friday. DeGrom was flat-out dominant, allowing just three hits while walking one. He flirted with a no-hitter before Curtis Granderson lost a ball in the lights with two outs in the fifth inning. It resulted in a triple for Andrew Knapp, who was brought home on a single from Ty Kelly. Still, it was another dominant outing from deGrom. He now owns a 0.84 ERA and 30/3 K/BB ratio in 32 innings over his last four starts.

Martinez was hit hard in Sunday’s loss to the Nationals, surrendering five runs on seven hits over five innings of work. The right-hander walked four and struck out three on the night. Nearly all of the damage against him was inflicted by Bryce Harper, who blasted a pair of two-run homers. Martinez now sits at 6-7 on the season with a 3.15 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 134/42 K/BB ratio. He’ll finish up his first half on Friday against the Mets.

Bet Tonight’s Mets vs. Cardinals Game

OUR PREDICTION: The Mets have won all four of deGrom’s last four starts, are 4-1 in his last five outings following a quality start in his last appearance and are 5-1 in his last six road starts versus a team with a losing record. On the other side, the Cardinals are just 3-8 in their last 11 home games versus a right-handed starter and are 1-4 in Martinez’s last five starts during the first game of a series.
