Nationals vs. Cardinals Prediction
After getting shellacked last night, will the Nationals rebound with an upset of the Cardinals tonight at 7:15PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cardinals are -114 money line favorites versus the Nationals, who have odds of +104 to pull off the upset tonight in St. Louis. With Gio Gonzalez set to take the hill versus Michael Wacha, the total currently sits at 9 runs.

Latest on Gonzalez via Rotoworld: Gonzalez took a tough-luck loss Monday after allowing just one run and two hits in six innings versus the Cubs. Gio’s peripherals still aren’t very impressive at all, but he’s going to get some All-Star consideration with his 7-2 record and 2.87 ERA in 16 starts. Of course, it would have helped his case if the Nationals could have gotten him off the hook for the loss tonight.
Wacha limited the Reds to one run and five hits in six innings to pick up a victory in an 8-2 game Monday. Luke Weaver’s back injury cost him just one start in Triple-A, so Wacha is still on pretty thin ice at the moment. He did well against a productive offense today, though, and his peripherals are still significantly better than his 4.50 ERA. He might not be quite what we were hoping for based on his impressive spring, but as a fourth or fifth starter, he isn’t bad.
Bet Tonight’s Nationals vs. Cardinals Game
OUR PREDICTION: Wacha is coming off a nice start but his previous five outings were shaky. The Cardinals are just 2-5 in Wacha’s last seven home outings and have lost all five of his last five outings following a quality start in his previous game. The Nationals, meanwhile, have won all four of Gonzalez’s last four road starts and are 12-4 in his last 16 outings following a quality start in his last appearance.
