From Rotoworld: Cashner allowed five earned runs and a season-high 11 hits over six innings in a loss against the Astros on Saturday. Cashner had allowed 44 hits over his first 52 1/3 innings, while walks have been his biggest bugaboo. He tied a season best with just one free pass allowed, but hung many over the plate and the Astros piled up the hits. While his 2-5 record is quite unattractive he still has a respectable 3.39 ERA and 1.42 WHIP across 10 starts.
Roark allowed three runs on three hits over seven innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday’s win over the A’s. Roark looked like he was well on his way to a victory, here, but a game-tying two-run homer surrendered to Khris Davis in the seventh inning derailed that possibility. For the season as a whole, Roark holds a 3.86 ERA and 1.22 WHIP through 10 starts. He will carry those numbers into a home showdown with the Rangers next time out.
Bet Tonight’s Rangers vs. Nationals Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Rangers have lost four of Cashner’s last five road starts, are 1-5 in their last six games overall, and are 1-5 in their last six road games. The Nationals, meanwhile, are 8-2 in their last 10 games, are 10-3 in their last 13 home games, and are 6-1 in their last seven games versus a right-handed starter.
