Nationals vs. Cubs Prediction

Will the Nationals and Cubs fall under the betting total when the two teams wrap up their series at 2:20PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cubs are -190 money line favorites to beat the Nationals, who have odds of +178 to pull off the upset in Chicago this afternoon. With Erick Fedde set to face Jon Lester in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.

From Rotoworld:  Nationals recalled Fedde from Triple-A Syracuse. He’ll start against the Cubs on Sunday in place of Gio Gonzalez who is away on paternity leave. Fedde was rocked for seven runs over four innings in his debut last week against the Rockies.

Lester struck out nine but lasted just four frames to take a no-decision in the Cubs’ 16-4 blowout win over the Diamondbacks. Funnily enough, Lester’s biggest contribution in this one was with his bat, as he drilled his first career home run in the third inning with a two-run shot off of Patrick Corbin. He did at least have the nine punchouts, but Lester walked three batters and hit one, getting his pitch count all the way up to 104 over four frames to force an early hook. He’ll try for better results Sunday versus the Nationals at Wrigley.

Bet Today’s Nationals vs. Cubs Game

OUR PREDICTION: The under has cashed in four of the Nationals’ last six road games, is 5-2 in thier lsat six road games versus a team with a winning record, and is 11-6 in their last 17 games versus an opponent with a winning record. On the other side, the under is 8-3 in the Cubs’ last 10 games versus National League East opponents, is 5-3 in thier last seven games overall, and should hit with Lester on the mound today, even facing a dangerous Nationals’ lineup.
