From Rotoworld: Gausman struck out eight batters over six shutout innings Monday in the Orioles’ 5-0 victory at Tampa Bay. Gausman issued three walks and surrendered five hits, but he kept the Rays from doing any meaningful damage. The 26-year-old right-hander has now put together two excellent pitching lines since Orioles manager Buck Showalter suggested that he might be on the verge of a demotion to the minor leagues. He still has an ugly 5.79 ERA and 1.72 WHIP for the year.
Bibens-Dirkx is expected to start Saturday against the Orioles. The Rangers have decided to give A.J. Griffin (intercostal) one more rehab start. Bibens-Dirkx holds a 4.53 ERA over 12 appearances — five starts — for the Rangers this season.
