Cueto is the only San Francisco starter with a win in the team’s first six games. He allowed four runs on six hits and walked two over just five innings but the Giants’ offense came alive in the victory. He struggled through his five fames, throwing 94 pitches and striking out five.
Richard was outstanding in his season debut, shutting out the Dodgers over eight innings on Tuesday. He allowed just five hits and two walks with five strike outs. He didn’t start the ninth despite racking up only 99 pitches. The success might not last all season but it nevertheless was an excellent 2017 debut for the former Cub.
Bet Today’s Giants vs. Padres Game
OUR PICK: The Giants are just 1-4 in their last five games in San Diego and are 2-10 in their last 12 games versus the Padres, who topped San Francisco 2-1 on Saturday nihgt. The Padres are also 9-4 in Richard’s last 13 starts against the Giants, who are in a massive funk to start the season. Might as well keep fading San Francisco given the Giants’ play thus far.
