From Rotoworld: Eickhoff surrendered four runs — three earned — in five innings in a lopsided loss to the Braves on Wednesday. He kept the Braves off the board for three innings before giving up a single run in the fourth. The fifth inning saw him give up a three-run bomb to Dansby Swanson. The flood gates opened after Eickhoff departed the game as the Braves scored ten more times against the bullpen. Eickhoff allowed four hits and one walk while fanning four in the contest. He has yet to win any of his 12 starts. His record falls to 0-7 with a 5.15 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 64 2/3 innings.
Porcello lost to the Yankees after giving up six runs — five earned — in 6 1/3 innings Wednesday. Porcello gave up a solo homer to Didi Gregorius in the third and a three-run homer to Chris Carter as part of a four-run fourth. He bounced back well enough afterwards that the Red Sox let him start the seventh, but he was charged with an unearned run then after being replaced by Blaine Boyer. Porcello fell to 3-8 with a 4.46 ERA. He actually has a career-high strikeout rate, but he’s giving up too many homers and the Red Sox defense isn’t playing nearly as well behind him as it did last year.
