From Rotoworld: Nelson allowed just two earned runs, three hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision against Philadelphia on Saturday. Nelson threw 59 of his 96 pitches for strikes in the quality start. He has rattled off six consecutive quality starts at Miller Park dating back to May 23, going 4-0 with a 1.24 ERA during the impressive stretch at home. His next scheduled start is set for Thursday in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Nelson hasn’t been as good away from home. He is 4-1 over eight starts, but he has a subpar 4.70 ERA.
Taillon allowed four runs on eight hits over five innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Saturday. It was a disastrous fifth inning that did Taillon in. He appeared to be out of the woods with two outs and the pitcher at the plate, but Lance Lynn laced an RBI double to keep the inning alive, and the Cards got an RBI single from Matt Carpenter and a run-scoring double from Tommy Pham before Taillon could escape. It marred what was otherwise a pretty good outing for the 25-year-old, who didn’t allow any major damage while striking out five without issuing a walk. Taillon is 5-3 with a 3.06 ERA through 12 starts, and he’ll try to shake it off when he faces the Brewers on Thursday.
