From Rotoworld: Nova allowed seven runs on nine hits over five-plus innings in Sunday’s loss to the Rockies. Nova was able to keep the Rockies off the board until the fourth inning, when he surrendered four runs. Charlie Blackmon would add on with a solo homer in the fifth before the Rockies knocked him out of the game in the sixth. Nova struck out five and walked one in the lackluster effort. He will try for better times when he carries his 3.62 ERA and 1.16 WHIP into a road start against the Padres next time he takes to the mound.
Lamet surrendered two runs on eight hits over 6 2/3 innings in Sunday’s win over the Giants. Lamet allowed RBI singles to Buster Posey and Gorkys Hernandez in the first and fourth innings, respectively. He struck out six and walked one over his 6 2/3 frames of work. This was a nice step up for Lamet after he surrendered a combined 12 runs (10 earned) in his last two starts. He will try to build off of Sunday’s respectable outing when he takes on the Pirates at home next time out.
