From Rotoworld: Nova coughed up six runs in 6 1/3 innings and got hit with a loss to the Tigers on Wednesday. The Tigers didn’t have any trouble figuring him out in this interleague matchup. He was peppered for 10 hits and two walks against five strikeouts. He gave up a solo home run to Ian Kinsler in the second inning. Nova gave up three runs in the first two innings, then turned in four scoreless frames before yielding three more runs in the seventh inning. He falls to 10-9 with a 3.87 ERA in 23 starts.
Davies surrendered seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits over 5 2/3 innings in Thursday’s loss to the Twins. Davies coughed up three runs in each of the second and third innings to account for the bulk of scoring on his line. He struck out three and walked two in the woefully ineffective outing. The 24-year-old right-hander will try for sharper results when he brings his 4.40 ERA and 1.40 WHIP into a home start against the Pirates next time he toes the rubber.
