Cole was terrific in Tuesday’s victory over the Rockies, surrendering one run on three hits across seven frames. Cole walked three and struck out three on the night. Aside from an RBI single from Tony Wolters in the fifth inning, he was in complete command of the game. It was especially nice to see after he was clobbered for seven runs against the Marlins his last time out. Cole will carry a 4.54 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 69/20 K/BB ratio into Monday’s start against the Brewers in Milwaukee.
Garza won in his return from the disabled list after allowing four runs in five innings Wednesday versus the Cardinals. Garza missed just one turn in the rotation because of a chest contusion. He’s now given up 15 earned runs over 20 innings in his last four starts. The win tonight was his first in five outings.
OUR PREDICTION: The under is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings between these two teams when they play in Milwaukee and is 12-3-2 in the last 17 meetings overall. The under is also 5-0-2 in Garza’s last seven starts versus the Pirates and is 4-1-2 in Cole’s last seven outings when he pitches against Milwaukee.
MONDAY MLB PREDICTION: PIRATES/BREWERS UNDER 9.5
