Latest on Price via Rotoworld: Red Sox manager John Farrell told reporters that Price did not suffer an injury in his start Tuesday night against the Rangers. Price left with a trainer after walking the first batter he faced in the bottom of the seventh inning and the lefty appeared to be picking at a finger on his throwing hand as he marched off the field, but all is well. Price was at 106 pitches anyway and Farrell said the trainer came out simply to check on his overall fatigue. Price worked six scoreless innings versus Texas, striking out nine.
Archer allowed three earned runs over six innings Tuesday in a win over the Cubs. Archer gave up eight hits and issued three walks, but he struck out eight batters while moving to 7-5 on the year. The 28-year-old right-hander now has a 3.95 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 139/36 K/BB ratio in 116 1/3 innings this season. A home matchup against the Red Sox comes next, in the Rays’ final game before the All-Star break.
