From Rotoworld: Archer surrendered eight hits and three runs over 6 1/3 innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Red Sox. He finished the afternoon with eight strikeouts and two walks. Archer held the Red Sox in check for large stretches but ran out of gas in the seventh when he served up a two-run blast to Dustin Pedroia. He also allowed a home run to Mookie Betts in the game’s opening at-bat. Despite starting Sunday, Archer should be available to pitch an inning in Tuesday’s All-Star Game, where he’ll represent the American League for the second time in his career.
Bridwell will be called up to start Sunday against the Rays. He was sent down during the All-Star break but didn’t appear in any games for Triple-A Salt Lake. Bridwell hasn’t started a game since July 5 so he should be well-rested. The right-hander has pitched well since moving into the starting rotation, going 3-1 with a 3.64 ERA over five starts for the Halos.
