From Rotoworld: Odorizzi struck out eight while allowing three runs over 6 2/3 innings in a win over the White Sox on Thursday. After stumbling in a loss to the Mariners his last time out, Odorizzi straightened it out with five clean frames before allowing three runs in the sixth. He was allowed to start the seventh and nearly finished it, but his 110 pitches ended his night. Still, it was a good rebound for the 27-year-old, who improved to 4-3 with a 3.59 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with the victory.
Liriano allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits over five innings while taking a no-decision in Wednesday’s 10-inning win over the A’s.
Liriano struck out five and walked one on the afternoon. He surrendered solitary runs in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings before being relieved of duty. While he has not thrown more than five innings in either of his last two starts, the Blue Jays are still working him back into a full workload after he missed three weeks with a bout of shoulder inflammation.
Bet Tonight’s Rays vs. Blue Jays Game
OUR PREDICTION: This is a coin-flip matchup to me, so why not take a flier on the dog? Odorizzi has held the Blue Jays to a .157 batting average in 166 at bats. Granted, he’s given up eight home runs but most of those dingers came with nobody on base. With Liriano still working his way back from injury, I’ll take the dog Rays again.
