From Rotoworld: Porcello allowed three runs and three hits over 6 1/3 innings Monday in a no-decision versus the Rangers. Porcello gave up a homer to Carlos Gomez with one out in the seventh, ending his night. The Red Sox had a 5-3 lead at that point, but the bullpen failed to hold it. The three hits that Porcello allowed were a season low by two. He’s had a fine K/BB ratio throughout, so if he is able to get the hits under control from some combination of better location, better luck and better defense, his ERA should drop steadily.
Cobb surrendered seven runs (six earned) on six hits over 6 1/3 innings in Sunday’s loss to the Orioles. Cobb struck out three and walked one on the afternoon. The Orioles broke through on the scoreboard in the third inning, with the key blow in the frame coming on a three-run homer by Manny Machado. Mark Trumbo would add a solo shot one inning later, with two additional runs scoring on Cobb’s line in the seventh inning. He will bring a 4.01 ERA and 1.30 WHIP into a home start against the Red Sox in his final start before the All-Star break
