He now sports a brilliant 2.61 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 166/22 K/BB ratio on the season. He’ll look to continue his dominance on Thursday against the Rays in Tampa Bay.
Faria pitched well in a no-decision against the Orioles on Friday, surrendering three runs (two earned) on four hits over 6 2/3 innings. The rookie right-hander punched out six on the night and didn’t walk a batter. Joey Rickard was his nemesis in this one, with an RBI double in the third inning and a solo homer in the sixth. Faria has been extremely impressive through five big league starts, registering a 2.23 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 35/5 K/BB ratio. He’ll look to extend that dominance on Thursday against the Red Sox.
