According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cubs are -160 money line favorites to beat the visiting Rockies, who have odds of +145 to pull off the upset. With German Marquez set to face Mike Montgomery in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.

From Rotoworld: Marquez will make his next start Friday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Marquez was initially scheduled to pitch in Thursday’s series opener, but the Rockies want to give his bruised right thumb one more day to heal. The 22-year-old right-hander got roughed up for six earned runs over five innings in a loss to the lowly Padres his last time out, though the thumb issue probably deserves some blame. Tyler Chatwood is now scheduled to start Thursday in Chicago.
Montgomery will start Friday’s game against the Rockies. He’ll be filling in for Kyle Hendricks, who was placed on the disabled list with right hand tendinitis. Hendricks should return after a minimum DL stint, so this may be the only start Montgomery ends up making. The left-hander has been used exclusively out of the pen this year, though he went 1-1 with a 3.28 ERA over seven starts last season.
Bet Today’s Rockies vs. Cubs Game
OUR PREDICTION: Marquez dominated the Cubs on May 10 in Colorado, striking out eight and allowing just three hits over eight scoreless innings. He worked six no-hit innings before Kris Bryant doubled to lead off the seventh inning. Marquez will face a lineup without Addison Russell, who is being investigated for allegations of domestic abuse against his wife. With controversy swirling around the Cubs, as well as the Rockies’ recent domination of Chicago (they’re 4-1 in their last five games against the Cubs), Colorado is a live dog today at Wrigley.
